At SpaceX's Starbase plant in southern Texas, a SpaceX Starship rocket—specifically, Starship 36—exploded on the June 18, 2025, while undergoing a normal static-fire test. Shortly after 11:00 p.m. local time (0400 GMT, June 19), the explosion took place, producing a spectacular blaze but no casualties. The event is the most recent setback in SpaceX's continuous endeavors to create its next-generation spacecraft for lunar and martian missions.

Major Highlights are:

  • On the test stand,
  •  No hazards to nearby communities
